Midweek Update Lesson 9

I’m still chugging away at producing the next show. It’s kind of funny, but God has a sense of humor. Last week I spoke about trials and tests and how they create patience. And one thing about being a Bible teacher is that you have to practice what you preach. It takes me awhile to put together a show, it’s a lot of work, but it’s a labor of love. Between day-to-day life and writing the lessons, preparing the message and sifting through hundreds of songs and putting together a lesson it can take a long time. This week I have been sending emails to prospective artists asking for permission to play their songs and no one was responding. My feelings were getting hurt. I recently added a link to the pod class at the bottom of the email and I thought maybe they were listening to the podclass and thought “this guy stinks!” Well right before I was getting ready to make this update. One of the artist just responded. And I thought about last week’s message on patience. God has a great sense of humor.

Special Edition: Bible PodClass Ruth 1 of 5

Today we are going to take break from our usual podcast which contains a short Bible Lesson, two featured musical artists and a verse by verse message. Today we are going to have five lessons released, God willing in one week. Pod Casting is exciting because I don’t have to wait! These programs are our Valentines special editions. Depending on who you are and your relational state, you just had some type of emotional reaction. For some it is good, you love valentines day. But for others you might be asking “Is it the 15th yet?”. No need to fear. This is a message about love that will transcend who ever you are. Whether you are single or married, male or female, young or old. Now for those of you who have never been married or have been widowed this message will really be close to you. But needless to say, there is something in it for everyone. Many times you have probably heard me say this is “One of my favorites” and of course this lesson is another one of my favorites. But for those of you who will ask what isn’t your favorite, I’ll tell you this, the book of Ezekiel creeps me out. But today we will not be in Ezekiel but we will be in a beautiful, short, yet profound book called Ruth So without waiting any longer let us open our Bibles and get into class.

Midweek Update Lesson 5 End of the Spear Review

Hello and welcome to the Bible Pod Class Mid week update for Lesson 5…. We have a great show in the making next week. But before continue to the update I would like to share with you a movie review of and Independent Christian Movie “End Of The Spear”. If you did not catch the synopsis on the last Midweek update go listen to it now. I just saw the movie “End of the Spear” which tied the lives of Missionaries : Nate Saint, Jim Elliot and three other missionaries as well as Nate Saints’ son, Steve, and a tribal leader of the Ecuadorian Wadoani Tribe Mincayani. Before I saw the movie I really didn’t know what to think. I read a few reviews. The critics were very rough on the film, but a lot of them sounded like they were just anti-christian. I would be afraid of what they would say about the Bible Pod Class? Then when I read movie-goers’ reviews by Christians they wrote that it was the best thing since Jesus walked the Earth. So I walked into the movie with some skepticism......

Midweek Update Lesson 4

Hello and welcome to the Bible Pod Class Mid week update for Lesson 4…. We have a great show in the making next week, but before continue I also have a special announcement. There is a new Christian Movie that debuts January 20th all around the country in selected theatres. Depending on a successful turn out it will have a wider release. You may have seen a number of bags and signs with a tan-skinned face staring intently at you. This is an upcoming his movie is titled “End of the Spear” It’s important that you go see and support this movie. It’s rated PG 13 because there are realistic violent situations. For more information go to the Bible Pod class website and I will provide more links and hopefully find a good trailer. Now back to our mid-week update. We are continuing our series in “Major Themes of the Old Testament”. We will continue with one of the Greatest Men of the Old Testament Abraham – the Father of our faith. I know this will be a very important lesson because this is a foundation for understanding the Old Testament and even part of the new. Again I will show you a glimpse of Jesus in the Old Testament thousands of years before he was born. And if you have ever been curious about what faith is. And how the faith of Christianity and of Abraham is different than many other religions we will answer it next week when we study another great passage of the Bible Hebrews chapter 11. I think you will find this lesson very intriguing. Also we are in the works for some great music by some wonderful artist. We have a little country twang and a beautiful ballad. The program is scheduled for the 21st – but if you subscribe to the podcast you might get it a little earlier. Also check the website twice a week for any updates.
