Play Podcast    His Holiness the Dalai Lama - Wood River High School, Hailey, Idaho - "A Message of Compassion and Healing" - September 11, 2005
His Holiness the Dalai Lama delivers a message of hope and compassion through individual awareness. I had the opportunity to attend and record the entire event through the sound board press feed box. The person you hear whispering to His Holiness is an interpreter who frequently interjected assistive English words. Boise Community Radio provided me with the press pass to attend the Wood River High School address and press conference thereafter which memorialized the fourth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks and the recent natural disaster in the Gulf States area. Jeff Abrams, General Manager of Boise Community Radio was the first of the press corps to ask a question of the Dalai Lama. I will podcast the press conference separately at a later date.

Play Podcast    The Jammers II at Amp Rehearsal in North Hollywood August 9, 2005
The Jammers was originally the three dudes of Eric, Art and Carter, but has now developed into a consortium of LA players who get together periodically to jam at various locations with various participants. This time, the experiment is to see how long it takes five basketballs, thrown randomly into a gymnasium, to bounce simultaneously and musically together. There is very little distinction between the basketballs and these players who, purposely, do not discuss anything about what they are to play. This is 100 percent improvisation, nobody agrees on anything other than making noise until being kicked out of the rehearsal room. This linup includes Billy on bass guitar, Art on drums, Eric on guitar, Ward on guitar, and Toshi on noisemakers and guitar. If you want quality songs, quality audio, and excellent musicianship, then whatever you do, avoid listening to this podcast from the August 9, 2005 jam session.
