If I was the motivational speaker at an e-commerce seminar, I would lose half my crowd after I told everybody this: "You must design, write, and control your own website." If any of my "flock" stuck around after that revelation, I could watch their enthusiasm continue to fade as I told them that learning to use an HTML Editor is essential. Their enthusiasm would go right into the toilet as I told them they must register their own domain name, learn to use a File Transfer Protocol program, and even some HTML code. Anyone that remained with me would learn that only after these steps are accomplished could the really hard work begin!

Podcast #13
6-19-07: This podcast is devoted to web browsers. I include an easy tutorial system for picturing the popular browsers as I talk. There is also an abbreviated time-line to provide an image of the web from the time President Eisenhower signed the bill for the ARPA program that started it all.

Podcast #9
I repeat myself by saying the most important skill for those who want an e-commerce business is the mastery of an HTML Editor. I move quickly to abstract listings of the previous 8 website shows in preparation to adding them to the archive program. I finish up with a mildly hostile email suggesting that most of what I'd been saying was hogwash. My response was a serendipitous gift from a radio ad that happened to be playing at the exact moment I was reading the email.

Podcast #6
PC 6web. 3-27-06. I started the show talking about my recent hardware changes but moved quickly into my primary topic, the business venue as applied to the website. I discussed parallels between the website and the early 20th century mail-order catalog. I then went all the way back to the first venue, the African Savanna.

Podcast #5
In issue #5, I whine about my computer problems and then drift into the a discussion of websites and WYSIWYGs. As always, I argue that do-it-yourself is better. I suggest you order one or two of my free eBooks. This was recorded January 20, 2006.

Website Building, Podcast #1
In the premiere podcast for this series, I talk about the three categories of website: The Vanity Website; The Auto-Function Website; The Interactive Website. Which of the three is best for you? This a short podcast (about 15 minutes) but I manage to zip through a historical review of website building from the middle 1990s until now.
