Play Podcast    76: Short Show: What's a Libertarian Too?
I respond to Matthew Blackham's editorial--"What's a Libertarian?" and take him to task for inaccuracies and misrepresentations he makes about libertarians.

Play Podcast    75: Short Show - Libertarian for President 2008
I suppose this is my official endorsement of Representative Ron Paul (aka "Dr. No") for the Republican nomination as well as for President in 2008.  I am not a fan of Republicans in general (any more than I am a fan of Democrats), but Dr. Ron Paul is a principled libertarian, and I support him.  He would certainly be a step in the right direction toward stopping the American slide to totalitarianism.  Forget useless Libertarians.  Vote libertarian.  Vote Ron Paul 2008.

Play Podcast    74: Short Show - First 1000
According to homelandstupidity.us, the thousandth person has signed the Free State Project's 'First 1000 Pledge'.  Congratulations to you thousand, and to all the others who will enjoy more freedom and liberty due to this movement.  Will it really work?

Play Podcast    73: Short Show - Time for a New Party
Voters don't like the term libertarian, even if they fundamentally agree with libertarianism.  And I think it's more than the name.  The party caters to extremists (near anarchists) like myself.  Maybe if there were a party that just fought for less government intrusiveness where the vast majority agree, we'd get somewhere.

Play Podcast    72: Short Show - Again with the Guns

I read an email from Tom that brings the issue of guns up again.  Then I babble a bit about the 88 year old woman who was shot when police intruded her home for no reason and she dared to defend herself.

Play Podcast    71: Short Show - Supply and Demand
Wouldn't our supply problems with commodities such as water and oil be much better solved by simply allowing supply and demand to work rather than relying on inept governments to regulate and enforce?

Play Podcast    67: Short Show - Guns Don't Kill People

Yes, I'm a libertarian who is not a gun fanatic.  So sue me.  Since I am pro-choice in nearly everything, I'm pro choice for owning a gun.  Where is the line, though?  I am not pro-choice in owning nuclear weapons.

Play Podcast    66: Short Show - Tax as a Weapon
Have you heard about this church that is being investigated by the IRS for preaching an anit-war sermon two days before the 2004 presidential election?

They did not support or bash either candidate.  And since Kerry voted for the war as well, how could they have?  I suppose they could have supported Badnarik, but no, they only mentioned Bush and Kerry, and their message was to them both.... [click pod above to hear the rest of this episode]

show@jeremywest.net   Sun, 24 Sep 2006 03:39:00 GMT

Play Podcast    65: Short Show - Totalitarian to Libertarian
I'm giddy about the seeming breakup of coalition that makes up the American Republican Party: The Religious Right and libertarians.  Will this finally present an opportunity for a libertarian America?
show@jeremywest.net   Sun, 17 Sep 2006 11:22:00 GMT

Play Podcast    64: Short Show - Minimum Wages Bite!

I don't like minimum wages.  I consider them price fixing, and that hurts the natural balance of the economy.  Let me negotiate my own wages!

Play Podcast    46: Short Show - Anarcho Capitalism

I wonder aloud: is anarcharcy (specifically anarcho-capitalism) any better than totalitarianism?  Or is it simply a different form of dictatorship, wherein those with enough money to own enough land become mini kings?
