Windows on a Mac #1
It's the first Windows on a Mac podcast! I recommend Blasterball 2: Holiday, currently offered for free!
Mon, 11 Sep 2006 01:47:00 GMT
Macbits #1
iSwitched changes to a weekly mini-podcast format! This week it's the first Macbits episode where I recommend Yahoo Messanger Beta and tell you how to direct your CDs and DVDs to a different application. I think I went overboard with that "Yahoo is going to be the best chat app"... I completely forgot about Skype for Mac that has a Beta with Video out.

Nice site... Bad Address: What's Wrong With iWeb
Well iWeb is nice but when it comes to having your site on .Mac, well Apple starts sucking. My site is at http://web.mac.com/snowy2004/iWeb/ (Go visit it!). Long? Ya, but that isn't really the worst part: the W of "iWeb" MUST be capitalized. Typing the address with "iweb" gives you an error message. This makes it very complicated to get it right. I sent a message to Apple telling them about this problem and recommending offering a shorter address for iWeb sites. My response what an acknowledgement of the "iWeb" situation and a recommendation to recommend the shorter address idea with the .Mac feedback form. I hope this gets changed soon. iWeb is nice but I don't want it's worst flaw to be with the service supporting it.

Double Yay!
My iMic got shipped! Yay (again)! I can't track it (again) so it's probably still in the States.
snowy2004 Mon, 16 Jan 2006 23:39:00 GMT
Yay!
I got my iLife! Yay! If you got yours too, you might be happy as me to find a nice bonus. What is it? You'll have to wait for my review!
snowy2004 Mon, 16 Jan 2006 23:33:00 GMT
Be Part of iSwitched!
With the implementation of iChat chat recording in GarageBand 3, I'm thinking of having iSwitched co-hosted (with 2 people, I mean)or having a seperate podcast. If you love Macs and Apple or even have a Mac or Apple podcast of your own and would like to make a podcast with me, send me an e-mail to snowy2004@mac.com. Being a recent switcher is optional.
snowy2004 Sat, 14 Jan 2006 20:39:00 GMT
Life sucks if it isn't an iLife
Unlike my nano, my copy of iLife 06 only left Toronto late Friday and becauce the local purolator isn't open on the weekend... well, let's just say it's a loss of a weekend with nothing else to do!
snowy2004 Sat, 14 Jan 2006 20:34:00 GMT
In Canada!
I got something when I checked the shipment info this morning (well something else than the "Call us at..." message I got before). This means that the package is in Canada! Where? Probably Toronto even If all they're saying is that it's in transit. It got scanned at 3:31 so that's a good! By tonight it'll probably say that the package has arrived and that I can go to pick it up! Somethng tells me this might be a verry good weekend! :D
snowy2004 Fri, 13 Jan 2006 12:11:00 GMT
Shipped (Part 1)
My iLife 06 got shipped! It got shipped by the same people who shipped my nano... the same who can't track a package 'til it get's into Canada! But I do have good news. My nano was shipped on a thursday, like today, and I could get it at the local branch on Friday, which would be tomorrow! Yay! The iMic still hasn't shipped, by the way.
snowy2004 Thu, 12 Jan 2006 23:16:00 GMT
Fun, Ordered and Registered
I bought iLife 06 tonight and I can't wait (... I had it expedited to make sure I don't go nuts)! I also had my .mac account registered. If you have anything about the podcast to tell me, send me a message to snowy2004@mac.com. I also ordered the Griffin iMic (so I don't have to use my USB phone for the podcast; I'll be able to use the microphone in my headset). This is all to review this stuff and it's for no other reason I buy this... pfff, yeah right! :D
snowy2004 Thu, 12 Jan 2006 01:49:00 GMT
What a Day!
Yes! The switch is in full swing! Now you can get an iMac or an all new MacBook Pro with INTEL! There's the new iLife (with iWeb) and the new iWork (without Numbers but with similar capabilities) but a big suprise: NO NEW SHUFFLE! My gosh! Oh and another big suprise: A MAC AD! This will be fun to podcast about! Expect the next iSwitched to be an extra-full edition, because I'll be reviewing the keynote, reviewing iLife 06 and .Mac (probably; I want to send my order in tonight or tommorow), give a song, app and game recommendation, give another fastip AND have the wonders of mac where I'll look at ExposÃ, OS X's Language capabilities, and it's font and dictionnary capabilites. Let's all hope you're not on dial-up!
snowy2004 Tue, 10 Jan 2006 20:34:00 GMT
On the next iSwitched...
I decided to forget about a video podcast. Seems Final Cut Express HD is fairly hard to undersand. Plus, when I looked at it, there wouldn't be much that it would add to the podcast. Anyways...
The next iSwitched will be a special one. No Wonders of Mac and no recommendations. It'll be a keynote preview edition. I'll look at what is expected, including the iWeb discovery, and I'll note what I expect from the keynote. I'll do my best to get it done before tuesday.
snowy2004 Fri, 6 Jan 2006 19:03:00 GMT
Wrong Place, Wrong Time
I was just checking out the keynote of Macworld San Francisco in 2005 on Apple's website and to my suprise, at the verry beginning (around 00:00:37),you can see a guy in the corner using WINDOWS XP! Easily identifiable with it's blue taskbar and start menu (even the background, I remember being from XP)! What is he doing there? Check it for yourself at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/mwsf05/
snowy2004 Tue, 3 Jan 2006 00:36:00 GMT
It's 2006!
Happy New Year!
snowy2004 Sun, 1 Jan 2006 14:03:00 GMT
iSwitched... Comming Soon in Video?
I'm thinking about making iSwitched a video podcast. I'll have to get some software to make it look (semi-) professional but seeing that one of them is Final Cut Express, I'll wait for the keynote before doing anything. Who knows! Depending on what Apple will be releasing then might even change my mind on this! If you do like the idea of a video podcast, tell me using the comment system.

Must... Resist... Tempatation....
That iPod sure looks nice... I DID have to erase some stuff off my nano to put in my Da Vinci Code audio book... Well, look at that! I have more that 5 Gigs of stuff in iTunes... That's more that the biggest nano... No! Must.. Wait... 'til... keynote... I DO have lots of video content... NO! Must... ACK! DARN YOU STEVE JOBS! Why couldn't you release the nano and the new iPod AT THE SAME TIME!? What are you going to torture us with this time!? A new suffle? Intel Macs? And what about iLife and iWork?! What are you going to add there?! ACK!
snowy2004 Sat, 31 Dec 2005 15:40:00 GMT
Still in the Works...
Sorry for the long break before the next podcast. I have lots of stuff to do (...ok, and to play, too!) but I should be able get it out before Christmas.
snowy2004 Thu, 15 Dec 2005 02:35:00 GMT
Mouse Makeover
I'm getting kinda sick about my Bluetooth battery-sucking mouse. I'm planning on getting a new one this month. I might even go for a wired one or a laptop wireless (without any wire between the Mac and the wireless thing). But seeing that my USB real estate is verry limited, I'll might also go with a Bluetooth one but that is rechargable. Why not a Mighty Mouse? You'll know why on the next podcast.
snowy2004 Fri, 2 Dec 2005 21:27:00 GMT
iSwitched, With Free Bonus!
On the next podcast:
-I got to play arround with both a new iPod and a new iMac and I'll be offering my thoughts about both
-A game, song, and program recommendation
-The "because mac is better" is changing to a special bonus at the end of the "iSwitched" podcast for the upcomming podcasts. You'll have to listen to know!
snowy2004 Fri, 25 Nov 2005 00:00:00 GMT
I tried an iMac!
I got to try out that iMac! You'll probably be able to listen to my thoughts on the next podcast.
snowy2004 Mon, 21 Nov 2005 23:31:00 GMT
Technical Difficulties... Well, Difficulties Anyway
Sorry for the long break. I had alot to do and when I wasn't doing stuff, I was playing World of Warcraft. I should be able to finish the podcast tonight... after a bit of World of Warcraft. :D
snowy2004 Fri, 18 Nov 2005 20:35:00 GMT
Quiet on the Set! Tapping in Progress!
I'm maybe half-way through tapping the next podcast! Just so you'll know, the topic for "the commentary" is Sony's DRM problems.
snowy2004 Fri, 11 Nov 2005 03:58:00 GMT
Ok, Now you can Laugh
That video I was talking about is online!
Go here
And click "Watch clip" for "Video iPod" (By the way, Bono apears on the ''Sromo...(whatever) Panel'' clip)
snowy2004 Wed, 9 Nov 2005 03:47:00 GMT
Comming up next...
Whew, man, World of Warcraft is addicting! Anyways, I'll probably make the next podcast this week. In it you'll here this and more: -A game recommendation (guess which one!) -Another program recommendation -A site recommendation -Another song recommendation -And what you should get for me... sorry, for that mac user in your life for the holidays. (most of the stuff I'll probably have not tried them out but I'd like too!) By the way, I'll be able to try one of the new iMacs soon so, I'll be able to tell you what I think about them after!
snowy2004 Tue, 8 Nov 2005 03:01:00 GMT
Now That's Funny!
In Canada, there's a comedy show called Royal Canadian Air Farce. Today, they made fun of the new video iPod and it was funny! After a week of the original airing date, they post the episodes on their website so I'll blog about it when it comes online! Bono was also on!

Microsoft: Saving Your Rear from Your PC
Now MS offers a website with a scanning service for your PC to scan for performance and protection stuff. I guess MS never heard "A ounce of protection is worth a pound of cure". It's a good idea but, again..."ounce of protection"!
snowy2004 Wed, 2 Nov 2005 00:55:00 GMT
My First Mac Game
I got my first Mac game (obviously, outside the ones that came with my Mac)! A friend recommend to me the online game "World of Warcraft" and I got it. It's really amazing: It looks nice and is very entertaining!
snowy2004 Tue, 1 Nov 2005 02:44:00 GMT
The Rare Times MS Looks Cool
It's almost hard to beleive the XBOX could come out from the creative minds that MS has... then again the XBOX team has probably not much contact with the Windows team... Anyways, in Canada, there's a contest where there's a XBOX 360 avalible to win every hour (You lucky buggers in the US can win one every 10 minutes!) So I said, what the hey! It's a free system! Plus, like I said, It seem prety good (surprisingly! MS probably decided to do something right now that they acctually have competitors) Hope me good luck!

How To Mac
I'm going to have a new segment where you can ask me anything Mac (OS X or iLife) or iPod (iPod, iTMS, iTunes, etc.) related and I'll answer it or find someone who can. If you have a question, just leave it as a comment on this blog post.
snowy2004 Tue, 25 Oct 2005 19:31:00 GMT
Comming up...
I'm going to start recording the next podcast (with an all new theme tune) tomorrow. Here's some of the stuff I'll talk about: -Apple's new Pro products -Saving up for a Mac -A new segment -A new recommended song -A programme you should try So don't miss! It should be available durring or before the weekend.
snowy2004 Tue, 25 Oct 2005 19:17:00 GMT
Save now, Mac latter
Here's a great idea for all you Mac users out there. You know you're going to want another one in, what, 3 or 4 years so why not start saving now! Get yourself a jar or some kind of bank account and put a bit away there. Keep on doing it and in 3 or 4 years, you'll have a nice amount of money to help you with the purchase of a new Mac! Great idea, eh? That's what I'm going to do for my next Mac: a PowerBook probably.
snowy2004 Sun, 23 Oct 2005 23:12:00 GMT
Now on iTunes!
Yes, it's official! I'm in the iTMS podcast directory! I'm going to add a iTunes link soon and I'll be adding the podcast to other sites.
