Episode 5.59 - 5th Annual RAVIES - Season 5
Steven and Jeff come back for the final show of Season 5. The 5th Annual RAVIES show. The guys talk about some of the balloting info and give awards to the several teams and players for performances throughout the 2009-2010 NFL Season. The guys were not ablel to get that celebrity show host, so Jeff brought in some guy off the street to tell jokes, much to Steven's dismay! Plus a little talk about the release of L.T., Westbrook, T.O. and Peppers. Plus, find out who is this year's Most likely to live under a bridge.

Super Bowl XLIV wows over 106 million viewers in the U.S. and Steven and Jeff are here to tell you about it. The guys put their illnesses aside and bring you over 2 and a half hours of Super Bowl talk. They cover some NFL News, with the arrest of show friend Warren Sapp, Donte Stallworth is reinstated and immediately cut by the Browns and looking for a team, and Westbrook admits he may have come back to early from his concussion. The guys then talk Super Bowl as they share their favorite commercials, talk about the party at Steven’s house and they recap the game quarter by quarter.

Episode 5.57 - Super Bowl Preview: Part II - Season 5
Super Bowl XLIV finally here and what a season it has been. Steven and Jeff take a look at both the Saints and the Colts and try to give you some info on the teams you may not have heard elsewhere. The guys take a look at the NFL News, discussing Plaxico getting interviewed by Bill Cowher, Cowboys FB Deon Anderson getting arrested and a new sheriff in town taking over as head of officials. Super Bowl officials are announced and the guys discuss Media Day, Dwight Freeney’s injury, and Steven talks about how the 1972 Dolphins 17-0 perfect season is no longer relevant. Plus Steven makes Super Bowl picks for both himself and Jeff.

The guys bring you a little taste of the Super Bowl XLIV with Part I of the Super Bowl Preview. Jeff rants on Stadium name changes, Steven defends Jets head coach Rex Ryan, Jeff plays a little more The Who, Steven talks about players using Super Bowl week as a time to come out and talk smack, ala Joey Porter and the guys wonder why Cincinnati Bengals players cannot stay out of trouble as Rey Maualuga gets arrested for DUI. The guys discuss the CBA and the possibility of an uncapped year coming next year and Steven tells Jeff that he needs to win the Super Bowl Challenge Game to even out the series and stop his punishment video. Episode 5.55 - Championship Recap - Season 5
The guys discovered there were some players that showed plenty of championship spirit on Championship Weekend. Steven makes a passionate plea to QB Brett Favre to return to Minnesota next year. Jeff gets down with his bad self and plays some of The Who to get things going for the Super Bowl halftime show. Steven finds it difficult to support the Pro Bowl this weekend since players keep dropping out of it, and Jeff figures he will not care for it much. The guys then recap Jets-Colts and Vikings-Saints and Steven explains where the Jets went wrong and he traces the beginnings of the Vikings fumble-itis to the Philadelphia Eagles back in Week 16. Looks like the Saints got it now. Plus Steven and Jeff use some on-air time to plan their next trip to Vegas!

Episode 5.54 - Championship Preview - Season 5
Steven says that Championship Weekend makes him want to "Rock N Roll all night, and party everyday!" Jeff, of course, adds the music. As the guys contemplate a trip to Vegas for Championship Weekend, they talk about some NFL News, Al Davis and his time with the AFL and the rumblings of him interviewing possible head coaches. The Bills Chan Gailey not wanting to commit to any starting QB and the coaching carousel continues with Defensive Coordinators changing in New York and Miami. Plus the guys cover both the NFC and AFC Championship games and it looks like the Challenge Game just got a little tricky.

Episode 5.53 - Divisional Recap - Season 5
The “Can someone explain to me why…?” Show. Steven and Jeff bring you the Divisional Playoff Recap and try to find out why certain things happen in the NFL. Like, why did the Chargers just give head coach Norv Turner a three-year contract extension the day after he got beat at home by the New York Jets. They didn’t treat Marty Schottenheimer that way. They guys also take a look at some of the other coaching moves in the NFL. Mike Nolan leaves Denver and possibly headed to Miami, and Chan Gailey may be the man in Buffalo. The guys then go over the four Divisional Playoff games and try to make sense of the three blow-outs and one huge upset win. Jeff win another Challenge Game and closes the Challenge Game gap to 10-9. Plus Jeff puts Steven on the Hot Seat four times. OK, he only puts Steven on the Hot Seat once, but Steven asks for it three more times.

Episode 5.52 - Divisional Preview - Season 5
The biggest weekend in the NFL kicks off Saturday with both the AFC and NFC #1 seeds. Steven and Jeff talk about the coaching carousel that continues in the NFL. With Pete Carroll in Seattle, the Chiefs made some noise as well reuniting Romeo with Weis and Pioli. The guys are calling them New England Patriots light or New England Patriots mid-west. Tom Cable still has had no meeting with Al Davis and the Bills continue to get ignored by prospective coaches. The guys break down all four Divisional Playoff games and only find one game to disagree upon. Plus Steven tells everyone to go out and see Avatar!

Episode 5.51 - Wild Card Recap - Season 5
The playoff kicked off with three blow outs, but the fourth game blew up Wild-Card Weekend with a 96 point bang! Steven and Jeff both have rants this week, as Steven rants on the current kicker woes in the NFL while Jeff rants on the new Seahawks head coach, Pete Carrol. The guys discuss that hiring and take a look at the Dolphins firing of their defensive coordinator, the Bills asking the Jets for permission to interview Brian Schottenheimer and Andy Ried says he likes all three of his QBs. The guys then recap the four Wild Card games as the Cowboys, Ravens and Jets roll while the Cards need overtime to beat the Pack. Plus Steven wins the Challenge Game as Jeff finds himself one game away from losing the Challenge Game Series!

Episode 5.49 - Week 17 Recap - Season 5
Week 17 is over, and with it the end of the regular season. Steven says it is bitter sweet, but bring on the Playoffs. The guys are joined by L.A. Times NFL Writer Sam Farmer, who shares his views on teams resting players down the stretch, his thoughts on the Bengals and Jets and why he still likes the Saints and Chargers in the Super Bowl. The final week of the regular season brings some interesting finishes, black Monday turns out to be more like grey Monday, the Bills fire all thier coaches and Jeff adds Fewell to the fire regarding the Rooney rule. CJ makes his mark versus the Seahawks, the Cowboys shut-out the Eagles and get ready to do it again and Jeff calls Steven a bad word at the end of the show because Steven played a soundbite one too many times. Jeff wins the Challenge Game again and now is only one game back of Steven. Plus the guys recap all 16 Week 17 games.

Episode 5.48 - Week 17 Preview - Season 5
Week 17 is here already. The final week of the regular season, and this is the final show of the decade. Steven and Jeff get down and take a look at the final Week 17 games with three Juegos Grandes, three Must See Games, three playoff implication games, three ½ U-haul games, three full U-Haul slash Nap games and one Chase for History game. The guys make LaMarr Woodley Boob ‘O’ The Day for saying the Bengals and Patriots will “lay down” to keep the Steelers out of the playoffs. Um, excuse me LaMarr, but I think the Bengals already beat the Steelers twice this year; I would rethink that one if I were you! Back by popular demand, Professor Playoffs is back in the house to make sense of the crazy AFC Wild-Card picture and Jeff kicks him out AGAIN! Plus the guys only disagree on three games and Steven takes the Pats over the Texans in the Challenge Game.

Steven and Jeff return for a Christmas Eve, eve show and get you ready for a wild Week 16 in the NFL. The guys talk about the issues surrounding the Vikings and Childress and Favre. Big Ben says the Steelers are a pass first team now, Fred Taylor opens his mouth regarding Jacksonville even though he will not play in the game, and Oakland calls Frye the starting QB. Poor JaMarcus. Steven continues to look for the Christmas Spirit and gets a little help from Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas”. The guys only differ on two games this week, so Jeff makes the Christmas Day game the Challenge game. Steven has the Titans and Jeff with the Chargers.

More games means more decisions and Jeff and Steven started out disagreeing on 6 games, but when the show is all over, they only differ on 3 games. In NFL News, the guys talk about the memo Commissioner Goodell sent to all 32 NFL teams regarding when players can come back after suffering a concussion, the Browns putting Lewis and Pool on the IR, Wade not feeling the critics, and Mark Sanchez learning to slide from New York Yankee manager Joe Girardi. Professor Playoffs comes in to share his thoughts on the NFL Playoff picture and Jeff asks to be called Mr. Ellis. Jeff finally picks the Ravens vs Packers game as the Challenge Game. The guys talk about Cromatie’s thrown drink, the Packers getting “ship all banged up” and QBs Romo, Bulger, Warner, Stafford and Big Ben get banged up as well. Episode 5.37 - Week 10 Recap - Season 5
The final bye week is over and now every team has played 9 games. The guys have plenty to talk about on this Monday following “Sunday, Bloody Sunday!” Injuries are prevalent throughout this weekend’s games and the guys take a look at the big names that suffered injuries like Michael Turner, Brian Westbrook, Ronnie Brown and Cedric Benson just to name the running backs. There is also some discussion regarding Bud Adams’s $250,000 fine, Belichick’s decision to go for it on 4th and 2 and Jack Del Rio telling MJD to down the ball on the 1 yard line. Crazy, crazy and crazier! Plus the guys go over all 15 games and Steven goes 13-2 and wins the Challenge Game for the 4th week in a row.

Happy Veteran’s Day! The guys get ready for Thursday Night Football on NFL Network as the Samurai Mike faces his old team, Da Bears! Steven and Jeff are still coming down from the little high of celebrating their 300th episode and they ask everyone to vote for the show at www.PodcastAwards.com for Best Produced and Best Sports Show. The guys cover NFL News with Joselio Hanson of the Eagles getting suspended for four games, Marvin Lewis stopping Ochocinco from sending mustard to the steelers, while Jeff feel he can only call Ochocinco Chad and a nice story regarding former Steeler’s running back Rocky Blierer. Episode 5.35 - 300th Episode - Week 9 Recap - Season 5
The humongous 300th episode does not disappoint and winds up as the longest show ever, just 10 minutes shy of 3 hours. WOW! NFL Rants and Raves celebrates its 300th show by bringing in everyone that has every sat in the co-host chair and other that have just made brief appearances on the show. The mysterious Nipper Knapp shows up, along with Chrissy Weathersby. The wives, Tricia and Dede make appearances and even Jordan, Kara and Elena make appearances, and although celebrity guest Ed O’Neill could not make the show due to illness, Steven tried hard to book some celebrities but the guys fell short and brought in Nova Scotia’s famous writer and friend to the show, Damian Penny. The guys have a blast recording the show and visiting with everyone, and YES, they even manage to talk about all 13 games played in Week 9 and even cover the cutting of Larry Johnson and Chad Ocho Dollar’s attempted bribe. Episode 5.34 - Week 9 Preview - Season 5
Steven and Jeff are one show away from the HUGE 300th episode. You will not want to miss that show, and in this show - the guys talk about Raiders head coach Tom Cable getting some heat from NOW, even though Jeff won't play it now. The guys talk about justice finally getting served to the ex-con that was convicted of shooting Richard Collier in 2008 and the guys talk about the slow two days of NFL News and the fact that nobody has signed the Edge. The guys get heated again as Jeff tries to say nice things about Steven, but all Steven wants to do is sing True. Plus Steven and Jeff make their picks and only disagree on one game after Steven makes Jeff flip-flop, so Jeff is stuck with the Giants in the Challenge Game again. Now that's scary!

Episode 5.33 - Week 8 Recap - Season 5
FAVRE BABY! Steven and Jeff return home from Green Bay, Wisconsin as they were able to witness Favre’s return to the stadium he once called home. It was a fantastic trip and even though Jeff was disappointed Favre did not throw an INT, Steven loved every moment of it and even wore a Vikings #4 jersey, something he has never done in his life, wear another team’s jersey. The guys share some fun stories from the road and then recap all 13 games from Week 8. Once again, Steven is the smartest man alive as the Eagles rolled the Giants and Jeff is now two games back. Plus hear the guys thoughts on the latest NFL News, Cable and the Raiders, Goodell meeting with Congress for different things and the mess that is the Cleveland Browns and the theory behind Kokinis.

GREEN BAY BABY! Steven and Jeff return home from an enjoyable, fun but exhausting trip to the UK. If the guys sound trashed, it is because they are – but in a good way. The guys share some fun stories from the London trip, including Steven’s street side helicopter rides, the guys hanging out with Ed and Charlotte from Sky Sports News and Jeff’s meeting with former NFL coach Mike Holmgren. The guys then quickly recap all 13 games from Week 7 and make their picks for the 13 Week 8 games. Minnesota @ Green Bay becomes the biggest game the guys have ever seen and in NFL News, the guys talk about a Redskin employee selling beer in the men’s bathroom. LONDON BABY! It’s that time of year again, for the third year in a row, Steven and Jeff jump on a plane and head to London for the International Series. The guys try to do a short show, but cannot contain themselves and share some London stories. Party at Bonds at 8PM in London on Saturday before the game. The guys cover some NFL News, Crabtree to start for the 49ers, Zorn thought about stepping down in Washington, Patrick Crayton not happy with the coaches in Dallas, Bears lose another defensive player for the year in LB Tinoisamoa and the trade deadline passed quietly into the night. The guys make their picks for only 13 games with six teams on a bye. Plus Jeff tells Steven that NFLN provides good food for the football soul and the guys get set to head out to London.

Episode 5.30 - Week 6 Recap - Season 5
Week 6 is in the books – ALREADY! The challenge games are tied 3-3, the Saints roll over the Giants, Broncos remain perfect with a swarming defense, the Patriots go all Patriots over the Titans and Jeff has come a long way from calling Josh McDaniels, Joshy! Steven and Jeff both have mini rants. Why are they mini? Because they are each sporting sore throats thanks to all the yelling at the Angels/Yankees games. They recap all 14 games as they both complete another 10-4 week. Plus kicker Jeff Reed is at it again, but this time there are no towel dispensers.

Week 6 brings us the battle of the undefeated, or the prodigal son returns, or the ax to grind game or as Steven calls it, the return of Peyton’s little brother. Plenty of NFL action this week as the guys finally cover the Rush Limbaugh saga. The freak doesn’t stay to watch his team when deactivated and Jeff just wants something. Then the guys focus on all 14 Week 6 games with some interesting matchups. Steven and Jeff only disagree on two games, and Steven takes the Chargers over the Broncos for the Challenge Game. Plus a little London time and a call to everyone in the Green Bay area.

Episode 5.28 - Week 5 Recap - Season 5
Week 5 is in the books and Jeff calls this the wire week as several games came down to the wire including the Dolphins huge win over the Jets on Monday Night Football. Steven turned the show into the Rumors and Innuendo show as he talked about several NFL Rumors. Steven was happy that he changed his pick to the Falcons over the 49ers and Browns over the Bills but Jeff remained the Smartest Man Alive as the Broncos defeated the Pats to give Jeff the Challenge game win. Plus the guys go over the 14 games and talk NFL News and Steven goes crazy with a rant.

So much for the guys not playing hurt. Both Steven and Jeff are nursing sore throats, but the show must go on. Episode 5.25 - Week 4 Preview - Season 5
Steven and Jeff bring you an especially long show this week. Even though Jeff was playing hurt (sore throat) he made sure the guys had a little bit of extra fun going over all things NFL. Somehow, with two games less to cover, the guys recorded a 2 hour 30 minute show. Jeff created the over/under on QB Jeff Garcia. The guys covered the return of Jeremiah Trotter to the Eagles, Henne taking over in Miami, a rant on JaMarcus Russell and Mangi-NOT benching Brady Quinn in favor of Drek! Then they reminded everyone that the bye weeks have begun, sorted out the 14 games into five categories including the return of El Jeugo Grande Estupendo De La Semana, and their picks for all games. The guys disagree on four games this week and Jeff makes the Challenge Game the Ravens/Patriots game, where Steven has the Pats at home and Jeff takes the Ravens on the road. What a weekend of football. Steven and Jeff discuss the Lions winning a game, the Colts rolling the Cards, injuries galore and the old magic man does it again – Brett Favre throwing a game winning TD with 2 seconds left in the game. Steven and Jeff return from visiting the new Cowboys Stadium and what a trip it was. The guys give you a few stories from the trip and recant a couple of stories from being at the game live and in person. In NFL News, Steven talks about how sad it was to see Plaxico Burress tell his son good-bye as he goes to jail for his two year sentence and the guys cover some more injury news. The guys then take a look at all 16 games from Week 2 which they are now calling “Upset Weekend”! As they are both upset with their picks and 8 underdogs win their games outright. Jeff wins the Challenge Game as the Panthers could not pull the upset in Atlanta. Plus Steven drives a new bandwagon this year, find out which one.

Week 2 is coming up and the boys are headed to Dallas to witness first hand the opening of the new Cowboys Stadium. Steven and Jeff will be a part of the 110,000 fans there to see the Cowboys take on the Giants. The guys cover the NFL news, including the teens that vanalized McKelvin's front lawn, the Jets getting fined for not putting Favre on the injury report last year, and Ochocinco talking about making the Lambeau Leap. That time of year is finally here as Steven and Jeff give you their pre-season predictions. The guys start out with some NFL News talking about the NFL's social media policy, the retirement of LB Tedy Bruschi, the current economy causing NFL blackouts and the much ado about nothing with Jerry Jones' video screen. The guys are joined by Sam Farmer, NFL writer for the LA Times. Sam talks about the joys of being able to cover the NFL in a town with no NFL team. Episode 5.15 - NFC West Assessment - Season 5
Steven and Jeff finish off their off-season assessment shows by covering the final division, the NFC West. Jeff sees a new team winning the division, and there is one team in the division Jeff really does not like at all. The guys start with some NFL News, and Steven and Jeff get into a heated debate when they talk about Plaxico Burress and the latest surrounding his case. Steven brings you all the latest injuries to hit the NFL as the Rams, Bucs and Panthers all watch their wide receivers go "Ship All Banged Up." Jeff really gets tired of hearing about HWMNBN III while Steven believes that he is not ready to believe HWMNBN III, "At this time." The NFL kicked off this weekend with the Hall of Fame Game. Jeff talk about the players inducted and after watching the game, Jeff really thinks VY is finished in the league. Steven disagrees. Episode 5.14 - NFC South Assessment - Season 5
Steven and Jeff celebrate HWMNBN week in the NFL. OK, they really don’t celebrate it, but if felt like T.O, Vick and Favre dominated the news cycle. Jeff rants on the media and their coverage of Steve McNair and his toxicology report, while Steven chimes in on the handling of Big Ben’s case. Vick get conditionally reinstated, but Jeff doesn’t like it. Plus some new stories surrounding the Marvin Harrison shooting and kicker becomes a “Good Ole Boy”. Then the guys get into the NFC South and Steven tells you the real reason Jeff picked the New Orleans Saints as his team this year. Either the “Jeff Ellis Curse” will continue to hurt teams Jeff is supporting or the last place team in the division will not go worst to first in the division, one thing will have to give in the South this season. The guys both agree that the south is in for a long season having to play both the AFC and NFC East. Plus some show news and fantasy football news.

Episode 5.12 - NFC East Assessment - Season 5
The guys are back to cover the NFC East. Jeff comes back from his vacation looking like the creature from the black lagoon, and shares some wild stories from the road. Steven and Jeff talk some NFL news by looking at HWMNBN 2 and his recent job change, the Lions and Jags make a trade, Tedy Bruschi considers the Brett Favre School of Retirement and Bengal’s Andre Smith says he would rather not have to hold out of training camp. The guys get into the NFC East as Jeff feels all the teams in this division have gotten worse except the Eagles who Jeff says can post 13 wins. Steven disagrees with Jeff’s assessment and thinks all the teams in the East might even be better than last year, plus the guys answer several questions taken from Facebook and Twitter.

Steven and Jeff come back before scheduled to bring you the AFC West Assessment show. Jeff just can’t wait to get Stallworth’s jail sentence rant off his chest, while Steven whole-heartedly agrees. Episode 5.01 - 2009 Combine and Free Agency Show - Season 5
The guys start Season 5 with a bang! Not only do they cover some of the happenings at the 2009 Combine, the guys are happy to jump in and talk Free Agency. Steven thinks the Redskins spent wayyyy too much on BIG man Haynesworth and DeAngelo Hall, while Jeff thinks the Eagles and Cardinals are not spending enough to help their teams. Jeff believes the Cowboys have been extremely quiet and Steven doesn’t like T.J. going to Seattle. Plus the guys talk about the other players leaving teams behind and moving on for a bigger pay day, and a quick look at the boat accident that has left two players missing.
